Momentum Builds Towards the Start of the New Port Project
The pieces are slowly falling into place for the start of construction of the new port facilities at Little Bay.
On Tuesday a drill rig and barge arrived in port, along with equipment for the exploration phase of the project.
Director of Meridian Construction Limited Richard Starky says the rig will enable the geo technical studies to be carried out.
The information collected from this exercise will inform the type of design for the port.
This phase of the project is expected to last several weeks.
Starky names two companies which will be involved in the design of the port.
