Healthcare Sector Receives Praises for it’s Handling of COVID-19 Pandemic
Two health professionals from the United Kingdom have offered praises to the local healthcare sector for their managing of the COVID-19 pandemic.
While speaking on the latest “Talking Health” radio programme, Clinical Educator Jordan Sumner and Intensive Care Consultant Rosie Cassie both agreed that the dedication of the healthcare staff was the driving factor in the handling of the pandemic.
Summer said the staff’s ability to ensure that facilities such as the isolation unit were equipped and accessible is to be applauded.

Cassie said the COVID-19 Suppression measures that were in place, such lock-downs and visiting restrictions on the vulnerable also contributed to their being a low number of hospitalization.

Both Sumner and Cassie will to leave the island on Sunday after a month’s stint supporting the Ministry in patient care during the recent spike in COVID-19 cases.
The ladies make up a 5-member delegation of NHS Medical Specialists which consisted of 3 intensive-care Unit (ICU) Nurses; 1 ICU Specialist Doctor and an Epidemiologist.
