Premier Farrell Seeks Help from Guyana for Montserrat’s Agriculture Students

Premier the Honourable Joseph Farrell has lauded the Government of Guyana’s plans for the development of agriculture.

He told ZJB news he is impressed with the programmes their especially the provision of shade houses for young people.

Under the Agriculture and Innovation Entrepreneurship Programme, the government provided all the resources and materials to develop the shade houses which produce high-value crops such as broccoli and cauliflower.

The Shade houses are being managed by past and present agriculture students who have formed themselves into a company with each becoming a shareholder.

Premier Farrell says this a remarkable initiative which he hopes to mimic here in Montserrat to ensure continuity within the sector.

Premier Farrell further stated that following fruitful discussions at the Agri-Investment Forum and Expo, he hopes to send students from Montserrat to the South American country to gain knowledge and experience.
