Nurses on Island Stage Industrial Action to Express Long-Standing Grievances
Close to thirty nurses there who mounted a peaceful demonstration on the Glendon Hospital compound Thursday morning to press government to address their long-standing grievances.
The peaceful protest was led by President of he Nurses Association, Danelda Henry and President of the Montserrat Civil Service Association Mrs. Nyota Mulcare.
Nurse Henry told ZJB news that their action was justified because their working condition, inclusive of remuneration and staff shortage, has left them suffering from burnout.
She added that it was not a political demonstration but one where the nurses were crying out for what they have been fighting for years.

Meantime, President of the Montserrat Civil Service Association (MCSA), Mrs Nyota Mulcare, who was very vocal at the demonstration, pledged the association’s solidarity with the nurses who she said have been suffering for a very long time

ZJB News has learnt that an emergency meeting is scheduled with the minister for Health, Honourable Charles Kirnon and the nurses at 1:00pm on Friday.
Meantime, the Ministry of Health issued a press statement on Thursday responding to the concerns presented by the nurses.
