Minister of Communications, Work, Labour and Energy Honours Former Ministers

The Ministry of Communications, Work, Labour and Energy has made a move to pay homage to past Ministers at that Ministry.

On Monday, the Ministry held an unveiling ceremony for its "Honour Wall of Former Ministers" which featured photos being strategically placed in the Ministry, so as to promote or generate discussion on the achievements of the former ministers.

In his brief remarks, Minister for Communications and Acting Premier Dr., the Honourable Samuel Joseph, says this initiative does not only show respect for the past Ministers but also acknowledges the work done by the Ministry to improve infrastructure on the island.

This activity also formed part of the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of Montserrat’s Parliament.

The persons honoured were Hon. P. Austin Bramble who served from 1966 - 1969, Hon. Eustace Dyer who served from 1970-1978, Hon. David Brandt who served from 1991-1994, Hon. Rupert Weekes who served from 1996-2001, Hon. Lowell Lewis who served from 2001-2003, Hon. John Wilson who served from 2003-2006, Hon. Idabelle Meade who served from 2006-2008, Hon. Charles Kirnon who served from 2008-2014 and Hon. Paul Lewis who served from 2014- 2019.

Three of the former Ministers are deceased, and they are Hon. David Chris Fenton who served from 1961 - 1966, Hon. Joseph B. Chalmers who served from 1978-1983 & 1987-1991 and Hon. Noel Tuitt who served from 1983-1987 & 1994-1996.
