Educator Calls for Montserratians to Embrace Its Own Language
A local educator says the time has come for Montserratians to embrace its own language.
Ann Marie Dewar, believes a very low value is attached to the Montserrat language.
She was speaking as a presenter at the annual Alphonsus Arrow Cassel Memorial Lecture, which was held as part of the Alliougana Festival of the Word.
Ms. Dewar says Montserrat should recognize the fact it is a bilingual community.
