Preparation for Multimillion Dollar Port Development Project Picks Up.

Preparation for the Montserrat Port Development Project is continuing apace.

The programme Management Office (PMO) organized a two-day project orientation session this week, with representatives from Government of Montserrat, the main contractor, Meridian Construction Company, and the appointed Engineer, Stantec.

The PMO says whilst the team has been engaging virtually for some time, this is the first occasion that parties from all three organizations have met in person in Montserrat since the launch of this phase of the Project.

It says the meetings were targeted and positive, covering everything from design, construction, environmental protection, permitting, surveys, social and gender action planning, health and safety, contract administration, to stakeholder engagement.

The PMO says in coming weeks, the public can expect to see physical progress in the establishment of the site office compound in Little Bay, and the construction of the lay down area at Pipers Pond.

In the meantime, design work continues to move forward, informed by the results of the completed geo-technical analysis.

The PMO says it is looking forward to continued collaboration and progress on this major project investment in Montserrat.
