Montserrat Joins Global Awareness Campaign on World Mountain Chicken Day
Montserrat on Monday September 13th, joined the global observance of World Mountain Chicken Day 2021.
The world-wide recognized day was designed to bring awareness to efforts to revive the population after the Chytrid Fungus wreaked havoc on the existence of the frogs.
Coordinator for the Mountain Chicken Recovery Project on island, Luke Brennan, says the awareness campaign is relevant primarily because the species was on the brink of extinction.

He was joined by senior Mountain Chicken Project Officer Tavis Weekes and Project Officer Kasie Ryan on Radio Montserrat to share information of the recovery efforts on island.
