Manager of Bank of Montserrat Ltd Says Persons Can Still Do Transactions with RBC Cards
The Bank of Montserrat has moved to reassure holders of Royal Bank of Canada credit cards that they will remain valid despite the takeover of the local branch.
Manager Baldwin Taylor says persons can still do transactions with cards issued by the RBC.
The Bank of Montserrat formerly acquired the assets of the RBC on April 1, becoming the sole bank on the island in the process.
Manager Baldwin Taylor explains that RBC customers will be issued with equivalent credit cards during the transition period.
Mr. Taylor says once persons have collected their new Bank of Montserrat credit cards the old RBC ones will be terminated.

Governments in the Eastern Caribbean approved the sale of the RBC branches last week.
The sale includes RBC’s 11 branches in Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, and St Vincent and the Grenadines.
