The Bank of Montserrat Limited Pledges Not to Abuse it's Position as a Sole Monopoly with the Acquistion of the Royal Bank of Canada
The Chairman of the Bank of Montserrat has assured the public that the financial institution would not abuse its position as a sole monopoly in Montserrat.
With the acquisition of the Montserrat branch of the Royal Bank of Canada almost complete, Bank of Montserrat would become the only bank on the island.
However, Chairman Dalton Lee says even in this situation, the indigenous bank would not take any decision that would adversely affect its customers.
Mr. Lee also pointed out that, in any case, the Royal Bank of Canada was not the Bank of Montserrat’s biggest competitor on island.
