A Local Political Activist Highlights a Case for Montserrat's Constitution to be Reviewed
A Political Advocate has described the island’s constitution as severely outdated.
Glenn Francis, a regular contributor to the What’s on Your Mind Radio Programme, has said that the current constitution allows for, only the Governor, to play the role of oversight in any discussion, bill or law being passed in the Legislative Assembly.
And in Mr Francis’ view, therein lies the problem.
Mr Francis, who contested the last general election as an independent candidate, believes that there needs to be a higher body of oversight, as it relates to the Legislative Assembly.
