Montserrat Children Society To Observe Universal Children's Day
The Montserrat Children Society has announced a series of events to mark Universal Children’s Day.
Universal Children’s Day will be observed on Saturday November 20th under the theme “Investing in our future means investing in our children.”
Among the activities is a discussion with veteran broadcaster Rose Willock on the Cultural show, where the discussion will explore the theme and explain what investing in children means to them.
The Prize Winners of two competitions, will also be announced, including the Painting Competition for Primary school children, with prizes for the first, second and third winners in categories 5-7 and 8-11years old.
The other is a Poetry Competition for Secondary School Children, with prizes for the first, second and third place.
The Montserrat Children Society is planning the very first broadcast of Montserrat’s children’s song which has been written by MCS, with musical accompaniment by Sun Lea and vocals by the children.
The United Nations established Universal Children's Day in order to promote internal togetherness, raise awareness among children worldwide, and to improve children's welfare.
