Last week, the Government of Montserrat announced the launch of a new voucher programme to facilitate the rapid roll-out of fibre optic broadband to premises across Montserrat.

The voucher programme aims to reduce the cost to consumers of connecting their premises to the new fibre network, and to accelerate the national roll-out of gigabit capable internet services.

Up to 2000 private and business premises will benefit in the first phase.

Speaking at the launch of the Digicel Fiber to the Home project on Wednesday, Director of the Department for Information Technology and E-Government Services (DITES), Denzil West explains that the connectivity on Montserrat will be on par with much more developed countries.
