Ministry of Health Announces Resumption of Full Healthcare Services

The Ministry of Health and Social Services has announced the resumption of full healthcare services on the island.

These include x-ray services, laboratory, pharmacy, Ultra sound and ECG.

Director of Primary Healthcare Dr. Dorothea Hazel Blake says the ministry is in a position to restore these services as the number of coronavirus cases on the island has declined.

Montserrat presently has only one active covid-19 case, and the number of persons with flu-like symptoms have significantly decreased.

Dr. Hazel Blake says as a consequence the ministry of Health will be re-opening these services.

However, she says members of the public will be asked to follow certain guidelines to protect themselves and the healthcare staff.

Meantime……..Director of Secondary Care Services Arlene Ponteen explains that access to patient care services will be guided by social distance and hygiene protocols.
