The Domestic Violence Act Gives Police the Power to Make Arrests Without Warrants

The police would have the power to make arrests without warrant in domestic violence situations.

This provision has been included in the Domestic Violence Bill that was passed during the recent sitting of the Legislative Assembly.

Parliamentary Secretary Veronica Dorsette Hector says the police can enter a property in situations where physical violence is being used.
