Montserrat's Remote Workers Programme Given the Green Light
The way is now clear for the start of the Government of Montserrat’s Remote Worker’s Programme.
The signature bill entitled “Remote Employment Bill 2020” was debated and passed in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday.
Communications and Works Minister Dr., the Honourable Samuel Joseph says the COVID-19 pandemic has proven that physical attendance is no longer mandatory for doing work and conducting business.
Dr. Joseph says the world of work is quickly shifting and, in this regard, Montserrat should take the lead.
Dr. Joseph explains the way in which the programme will operate.
Minister Joseph says like any other application process, proper documentation is a prerequisite for the programme.
Minister Joseph says applicants must also successfully pass a background test.
