Brenda Thomas-Leon Receives Leadership Award

Another Montserratian is making headlines in the United States in her field of specialty.

Brenda Thomas-Leon, the daughter of Vereen Thomas-Woolcock has been awarded the Champion's Heart accolade for her unwavering leadership On the Commissioned Corps Project.

Mrs Thomas-Leon works for Booz Allen Hamilton, a firm which does consultancy work for the American government.

The awarded was bestowed upon Mrs Thomas-Leons in recognition and appreciation of her “Champion’s Heart” efforts while serving as the Project Manager for the Commissioned Corps Modernization project.

The Champion’s heart acknowledges what it refers to as Mrs Thomas-Leon’s formidable leadership acumen on this high-stakes project…emphasizing that she presented herself as a knowledgeable, engaged consultant in front of very senior clients.

It said Mrs Thomas-Leon and her project team displayed a leadership style that others will dear to emulate.

Time after time, it said,Mrs Thomas-Leon put shape to ambiguous client requirements and then lead the project team in creating products that hit the mark.

The Champion’s heart cited a recent instance where the Deputy Surgeon General made a point of showering praise on a call with her staff about the quality of the communications product that Mrs Thomas-Leon and her team created, which successfully resulted in a $3.7M win for the US government.
