Dr Sheron Burns Receives UWI 2019-2020 Vice-Chancellor's Award for Excellence
Early Childhood Development Expert Dr. Sheron Burns was presented with one of the University of the West Indies’ most Prestigious awards Thursday evening.
Montserratian Dr. Burns along with two other colleagues was awarded the 2019-2020 Vice-Chancellor's Award for Excellence for her contribution to a Multi -Campus Research Collaboration entitled the Early Childhood Quality Initiative (ECQI).
The University of the West Indies’ Vice-Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence programme was established in 1993 to recognize outstanding achievements by Academic staff members in the areas of Teaching, Research, Service to the University Community, Contribution to Public Service, and All-round Excellence in a combination of two or more of the areas.
This year’s 27th celebration, marks the first ever, virtual ceremony, as well as the largest number of awardees to be honoured at-any-one ceremony, taking the total number of awards since inception, to 153.
