Opposition Leader Calls for Parliament to Debate on FAC Report and its Implications for Montserrat

The leader of the Opposition has called for a debate in parliament to discuss the Foreign Affairs Committee, “Global Britain Overseas Territories….Resetting the relationship”.

Easton Taylor says the recommendations in the report have far reaching implications for Montserrat and other British Overseas Territories.

He says there are some areas of friction between the territories and the UK that should be addressed.

These include implementing the register of public interest, legalizing same sex marriage, and allowing British citizens to hold public office in the overseas territories.

Mr. Farrell Taylor says the manner in which British aid is administered is another area of concern.
