GIS Day 2019 Observed on Montserrat on Wednesday

The Physical Planning Unit within the Ministry of Agriculture, Trade, Lands, Housing and the Environment opened its doors on Wednesday, as part of efforts to increase public awareness about the importance of Geographic Information Systems…GIS.

The “open house” which ran from 10 A.M to 4 P.M is in light with the global observation of GIS Day 2019, which is being celebrated on November 13th 2019.

Montserrat’s GIS Specialist Lavern Ryan says GIS Day, a worldwide event that celebrates the technology of Geographic Information Systems, will be used this year to showcase the works of the local department.
