Passengers Disembark Fly Montserrat Aircraft After Unsuccessful Take Off
Passengers were instructed to disembark a Fly Montserrat aircraft Thursday morning after it reportedly had a difficulty ascending into the air.
Having received the unconfirmed report, ZJB News contacted the Airports’ Management who confirmed that the incident had taken place. As is standard procedure, the airport authorities have since reported the incident to the regulator, ASSI.
ZJB News has been reliably informed that after the unsuccessful attempt at take-off, the passengers were asked to board another Fly Montserrat aircraft which transported them across to Antigua.
Our newsroom understands that on board the plane was the European Union (EU) Delegation to Barbados who visited the island this week as part of a familiarization tour.
The aircraft which had encountered the mishap was used later on in the day to conduct flights. The incident places air safety back in the spotlight after one of Fly Montserrat’s aircraft’s slid off the runway last month with six passengers on board.
An investigation into that incident is now being conducted by UK based Air Safety Support International (ASSI)
