Montserrat Not Affect By Petrotrin Shut Down
The Island’s lone gas supplier says it would not be affected by the Trinidad oil refinery shut down.
Manager of Delta Petroleum Montserrat Ltd Roselyn Cassell Sealey says Delta is not solely dependent on Trinidad for fuel.
Pretotrin announced in August that it would close its oil refinery operations in October due to recurring losses from crude imports in recent years.
The announcement follows months of careful review and analysis by the Petrotrin’s board, which was tasked to identify internal problems and take whatever steps necessary to make the company self-sustainable and profitable.
Petrotrin currently supplies refined products such as gasoline, diesel and aviation fuel to countries in the region and beyond, including Jamaica, Montserrat, Barbados, Grenada, Guyana and St Lucia.
