Festivals Should Help To Preserve Montserrat's Traditions
A former parliamentarian believes festivals such as the Cudjoe Head Day festival could help preserve Montserrat’s culture and traditions.
Charles Kirnon, believes the festival which is celebrated on the Saturday before August Monday, plays an important role in keeping traditions alive.
He says traditionally, apart from highlighting the arts such as masquerade music and dancing, Cudjoe Head Day brings people together.
2018 marked the 29th anniversary of the festival that features masquerade music and dancing, food, steel pan music and other forms of entertainment.
