Medical Practitioners To Conduct Screening, Exercise and Educational Sessions

A team of medical practitioners is expected to visit the island next week.

The Montserrat Healthy Hearts team is led by Cardiologist Dr. Icilma Fergus- Rowe and consists of a number of other healthcare professionals. Among them would be cardiologists, a nutritionist and a diabetologist.

A group of medical students is accompanying the healthcare professionals. The team will be on island from June 25th to the 29th. As such, a number of public events have been organized by the Ministry of Health.

On Tuesday June 26th,  the team will be at the Lookout Community Center conducting Health screening for residents of the lookout Warden Assisted Home, and persons in the immediate environs.

The session will include demonstrations on meditation techniques and food demos.

The session planned for Wednesday the 27th at the St. Patrick's Credit Union Hall will be a Line Dancing session with Secondary School leavers.

This would be followed by a Public forum at the Hall from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

The public events will conclude on Thursday, the 28th.

The team will be at the Montserrat Secondary School screening staff at the MSS and Community College as well as persons in the neighboring environs.

This will be followed by an African Dance workout session at the basketball Arena starting from 5PM to 6:30PM.
