A landmark moment for the Royal Montserrat Police Service (RMPS) in particular, and Montserrat in General.

The arrival Wednesday morning of the long-awaited marine vessel, MV Heliconia Star.  

The hi-tech 80-foot fast marine patrol boat sailed from Antigua to Montserrat with its crew and members of the marine unit here on board

Commissioner of Police Steve Foster was also part of the trip from Antigua on board MV Heliconia Star.

In an interview with ZJB News on board the vessel, An elated Commissioner Foster lauded the key stakeholders who he said were very instrumental in making their dream come true after a delay of more than two years.

 

 

Independent Marine Consultant working for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) Overseas Territories Directorate, Ian Perret says all things considered, Montserrat is very fortunate to have such an advanced vessel.

The MV Heliconia Star was designed by the Dormund Company in Holland but was built in Turkey
