Governor Awaits Legal Advice Before Commenting On Constitutional Breach

His Excellency the Governor Andrew John Pearce says he is not in a position to reach a view on whether or not there was indeed a constitutional breach where the presentation of the 2018/2019 budget is concerned.

Governor Pearce was responding to a question posed on the implications should a budget be not presented within the guidelines set out by the Montserrat Constitutional order 2010.

However, Mr. Pearce said any view that he would share would be contingent on legal advice from the Attorney General’s Chambers, which would guide his discourse to the public.
