Appeal For More Government Funding For St Patrick’s
A member of the St. Patrick's Festival Planning Committee has made an appeal for more government funding.
Renford “Kulcha Don” Gibbons says the festival, which has grown in both size and importance over the years, needs to be properly resourced.
He believed that with the St. Patrick's Festival quickly becoming the biggest revenue earner for the island, the government should be mindful to increase its budget so that its benefits can be maximized.

The government allocated 32,500 dollars to the St. Patrick's Festival Planning Committee this year, in comparison to 200,000 in 2016.
Statistics also showed that 5,504 persons came to Montserrat in March 2016, most of whom visited for the festival.
