Exciting Show in Store for the Opening of Festival 2018
The 2018 festival will officially open on Friday.
Deputy Premier Delmaude Ryan will declare the year end celebration open, followed by celebratory fireworks.
Director of the Montserrat Arts Council Chad Cumberbatch will also address the audience at the event at Festival Village in Little Bay.
There will be appearances by Nia Golden, who will sing the territorial song, the Emerald Shamioles Masquerades, the contestants from the Princess Show and the contestants for the Crowning of the Queen.
There will also be appearances from the reigning calypso monarch Rabo, and the Matrixx Dancers.
Troupes & Groups, Stilt Walkers, String Band, Miss Goosie and Volpanics Steel Orchestra will also perform.
The opening will be followed by the calypso semi-final, at 8 'clock.
The festival ends on January 2nd with the traditional street parade.
Among the highlights are the regional female calypso show on December 29th and the calypso final on December 30th.
