Azaar Mitchel Undergoes Successful Surgery

ZJB News has learnt that Brother Azaar Mitchell successfully underwent surgery.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Pastor Toney Allen of the Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Brades reported that the surgery for the implantation of an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) took place at the University Hospital of the West Indies, Mona Campus in Kingston, Jamaica on Saturday March 1st.

According to Pastor Toney Allen, following the surgery, Mitchell was released on March 3rd and is at home recovering.

Mitchell, who came to Montserrat from his native Jamaica several years ago, settled in and contributed meaningfully to life on the island.

Over time, he developed a serious heart condition which culminated in him needing to receive the ICD to extend his life.

Fundraising drives on island, which began late last year, enabled him to acquire the requisite funds to purchase the life-saving equipment, and for the surgery.

ZJB News joins with everyone who contributed to this efforts in wishing Azaar Mitchell a speedy recovery.
