Premier Meade to Headline Global Island Summit in St Kitts
Premier Honourable Reuben T. Meade will headline an impressive line up of speakers at the Global Island Sustainable Summit in St. Kitts.
The May 25th to 30th summit is organized by Island Innovation, and includes a series of in-person events dedicated to advancing sustainable development on islands worldwide.
Building upon the momentum of the 2024 SIDS4 Conference, the summit will address pressing challenges confronting island communities, focusing on Water Sustainability & Energy Nexus, Agricultural Resilience & Climate Adaptation, Climate-Health Interactions and Geothermal Energy.
Premier Meade will be joined at the summit by Dr. Terrence Drew, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Edward David Burt, Premier of Bermuda, Lady Alida Francis, Governor of St. Eustatius, and Rebecca Fabrizi, UK Envoy, UK's Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
Among the issues to be addressed are Water Security - Ensuring reliable and sustainable water resources; Energy Transition - Accelerating the shift to clean and renewable energy; and Food Security - Promoting sustainable agriculture and food systems.
