Housing Minister Highlights Maintenance Costs, High Demand and Land Access as Challenges in Social Housing
Housing Minister Honourable John Osborne has outlined a number of challenges facing social housing on the island.
Minister Osborne says the deterioration of the buildings, which are costly to maintain, poses a health and safety risk to the tenants.
A part from high maintenance costs there is still a waiting list for people in need of proper housing - which is a priority for the Government of Montserrat.
Another challenge is access to lands to satisfy the need for affordable housing.
