Montserrat Represented at Overseas Territories Forum on Public Finance

A Montserrat delegation was among Overseas Territories representatives at the Sixth UK Overseas Territories Forum on Good Governance and Oversight of Public Finance.

The grouping included Clerk of the Parliament Dr Judith Baker, Auditor General Marsha Meade, Chief Internal Auditor Romilly Murrain, Politician Claude Hogan, and Prospective Chair of the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee Shirley Osborne.

The September 10 - 12th forum, hosted by the UK Parliament and UK National Audit Office, featured parliamentarians, parliamentary officials, and government auditors across Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Montserrat, St Helena, and the Turks and Caicos Islands.

As the flagship annual conference, focused on enhancing good governance and oversight of public finance, the Forum stands as an important opportunity for parliamentarians, officials, and auditors alike to meet and share best practices.

It provided an opportunity for delegates to explore issues, find common solutions, and share experiences relating to good governance and oversight of public finances.

In her feedback on the meeting, Osborne said in a way, it strengthens the capacity of the audit departments here by learning from others.
