Montserrat Social Security Fund in Best Financial Standing in Eight Years
For the first time in 8 years, the Montserrat Social Security Fund (MSSF) is generating sufficient income to cover its benefits obligations.
This means progress for the fund, after it faced financial difficulties in 2023.
Director of the Montserrat Social Security Fund, Philip Chambers, gave the announcement in his statement on ZJB Radio that marks the 38th anniversary of the fund. In the statement, he also urged employers to respond to their social security obligations.
The director also recognized all former ministers, boards, management and staff who have contributed to the success of the social security system.
The Montserrat Social Security Fund was established as a statutory corporation by the social security act of 1985 and commenced operations of July 1986.
