Royal Montserrat Police Service Awards Officers and Civilian Staff
Acting Commissioner of Police Alexander Enriles has handed out awards to several officers and civilian staff.
The certificates of commendation are for outstanding and exemplary service.
According to the RMPS, some of the citations include the rescue of seventeen migrants from a vessel in distress, a further three rescue operations, in which a vessel was towed to safety and the investigation of various safeguarding and other matters.
These resulted in successful prosecutions.
Acting Commissioner Enriles extended congratulations to all officers and staff involved in those operations.
The Commissioner says it is important that the incredible work and dedication of these officers and staff be recognized.
He says the RMPS is lucky to have individuals who are going above and beyond to keep people safe, often giving their own time and placing their lives at risk in service to others.
He went on to say that incidents such as the rescue of the seventeen migrants, placed an enormous demand on the service, while the successful resolution of these unfortunate circumstances serve as a testament of the officers commitment and resolve.
