Electoral Commission Seeking Workers

The Electoral Commission has started the process of recruiting workers for the upcoming general elections.

The Commission is seeking poll clerks, assistant returning officers, manual tally clerks, computer tally clerks and presiding officers.

Persons who are interested can visit the Electoral Office to express their interest in any of the roles.

Elections are constitutionally due later this year, and at least three political partners are said to be ramping up preparations.

The United Alliance led by former Premier Reuben Meade was the first out of the gate.

They have released the names of three candidates so far; Mr. Meade and John Patrick Osborne, the son of former Chief Minister John Osborne and Dwayne Hixon.

The incumbent Movement for Change of Prosperity and the Peoples Democratic Movement PDM are also expected to field candidates.

Former Premier and Member of the Parliamentary Opposition, Honourable Donaldson Romeo, has announced that he is in the process of forming his own political team.
