Persons Urged To Cease Activities In The Center Hills
The Department of Environment is urging residents to cease and desist any activities that may harm the protected area of Centre Hills.
Environment Technician, Stephen Mendes, says these protected areas are essential to the livelihood of the island, and residents should not be in those areas unless permission is granted by the department itself.
He says that all of the drinkable water on Montserrat is spring water and there would have a high risk of contamination, affecting not just the biodiversity of the island but also its water supply.
