United Alliance Candidate George Kirnon unsuccessful in his bid to have his rejected nomination for the 2024 general election overturned.
United Alliance (UA) candidate, George Kirnon has been unsuccessful in his application challenging the Electoral Commission’s decision to reject his nomination for the 2024 general election.
The case against the Attorney General and the Returning Officer was heard in the High Court on Tuesday.
Justice Brian Cottle was the presiding judge.
Tuesday afternoon, Justice Cottle ruled that the actions of the retuning officer were not unfair.
Although information of the case is sketchy, apparently, Mr Kirnon was rejected on the grounds that he was not living in Montserrat 12 months before the election was called.

The list of 33 candidates and polling divisions for the upcoming October 24 general elections was gazetted and released on Monday.
Of the originally 34 candidates registered on Nomination Day October 10, Mr Kirnon’s name as the lone omission from the list.
