Montserrat to Participate in Haynes Smith Miss Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant After Ten Year Haitus
After a 10-year hiatus, Montserrat is again competing in the Haynes Smith Miss Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant.
Reigning Miss Teen, Claricia Chambers is carrying Montserrat’s challenge in the event.
For the first time in its over 40 year history, the pageant will be held in the British Virgin Islands on Sunday December 29.
In a promotional video on Tuesday, the organizers announced that this year’s competition will see 12 young ladies competing for the title.
Meantime, Fenyx Creations is the organizing body for the Montserrat Miss Teen Pageant.
Founder Jo-Annah Richards says preparations have started for the pageant resulting in a busy schedule for the Miss Teen that includes walking and question and answer training.
She says this should be viewed as an avenue to provide the young girls of Montserrat with an opportunity to develop and grow.
The last time Montserrat took part in the competition was back 2014 with Sharese Allen.
Prior to that, in 2013, Montserrat’s representative was Vanice Tuitt, who at the time tied with Miss Nevis for second runner up.
