Five of Montserrat's Finest Students Receive the "Simply the Best" Award.

Five students selected for the “simply the best” programme have received their certificates.

They are Jeremiah Gilford, Haley Shai Kassie, Vashorn Roache, Shay-Reese Chambers, and Tene Fergus.

The students were selected for their efforts and contributions to their school and community, as well as their kindness and helpfulness to their peers.

In an interview, the awardees expressed their gratitude for the award and offered advice to other young people on how they too can begin to get involved in their community and help others.

The “simply the best” award program was introduced in the Montserrat Secondary School during the 1989 to 1990 academic year by psychologist Dr Carol Tuitt, under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and in conjunction with ZJB Radio.

The program later continued with the sponsorship of the Montserrat red Cross Society and became an annual staple for subsequent years.

Dr Tuitt shares that the purpose of this program is to recognize the notable work of students and boost their morale.

This year’s awardees each received a certificate and a gift set with various items.
