FCDO Economist Forsees Growth for Montserrat’s Economy Through CIPREG Projects
A Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) economist sees Montserrat’s economy growing from a short term construction boom with the roll out of Capital Investment Programme for Resilient Economic Growth (CIPREG) projects on island.
Rahi Islam says capital projects like the new port development project in Little Bay and the soon-to-come-on stream hospital project are the forerunners as contributors to economic resurgence on island.
He was part of the Financial Aid Mission Mid-Year Review last week involving the technical team from the Ministry of Finance and Economic Management (MOFEM) and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
The Mid-Year Review enabled both the FCDO and GoM to talk through the key successes and challenges.
The face to face meetings discussed ways in which the challenges could be overcome and the successes amplified.
