Siobhan Tuitt Appointed To Board Of Regional Statistics Body

A Montserratian has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Caribbean Association of Professional Statisticians- CAPS.

As at April 14, Chief Statistician Siobhan Tuitton joined the board as Area 1 representative, following her unopposed nomination and will serve in the post for the next three years.

Tuitt, a staunch advocate for greater use of official statistics in decision-making, actively contributes to national development planning, with the provision and discussion of statistical information necessary for the formulation of strategies, for growth and sustainable development. 

She has a passion for advancement of official statistics,and is pleased to be given the opportunity to play a role in fostering the sustainable growth and development of Montserrat and the region.

CAPS was officially launched ten years ago in St. Kitts and Nevis and is a non-profit organization with objectives to: promote the contribution of statistics and its applications to evidence-based decision-making in the CARICOM Region; collaborate and foster discussion among professional statisticians; and promote continuous training and development of professional statisticians.
