Government of Montserrat Implementing Action Plan to Comply with International Standards

The Government of Montserrat is working to update its anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing (AML-CFT) regime, in order to comply with international guidelines.

During Monday’s budget presentation, Premier, the Honourable Joseph Farrell, said that the government was committed to become compliant with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and implementing global standards through a National Strategy and Action Plan.

According to Premier Farrell, the aim of the plan is to support international efforts to fight against all forms of financial crime and protect the jurisdiction from being used as a vehicle for financing terrorism, as well as the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
