Government Allocates Funds for Infrastructure, Housing and Farming Projects,

The Government presented a 1.4 million dollar supplementary appropriation bill in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.

It includes initiatives to benefit a number of sectors including healthcare and farming.

$726,800 will go towards the purchase of defibrillators and incinerator and incinerator for the hospital as part of the critical equipment project, $253,000 for a multi-purpose court in Davy Hill, while $52,000 were allocated to commence the creation of 5 green spaces. This project includes planting 3,500 trees across the island.

Meanwhile the government re-allocated $200,000 to pave agriculture access roads in Duck Pond, $245,000 for greenhouses, shade houses, youth programs, and fishers' boat upgrades, and $305,000 to continue the housing assistance programme.

A further $589,400 will cover the cost of a solar plant switching gear mechanism, connecting it to the micro grid for uninterrupted power to the hospital, warden-assisted homes, airport, look out school and DMCA during outages.

$80,000 will go towards a water distribution system in Dick Hill to connect homes and farms in the area.
