Montserrat National Trust to Launch Book Highlighting Historical Impact of Medicinal Plants

The historical impact of medicinal plants will be highlight during a book launch by the Montserrat National Trust.

Administrative Manager Delmaude Ryan says 15 plants have been researched and are included in the booklet.

Ryan the information include medicinal benefits of the plants and their local usage.

Ryan says the book will be available at the launch on Wednesday at the Montserrat museum at 5pm.

The launch of the booklet is part of the Hidden Histories Project.

Jodey Peyton - Biodiversity Science Area Coordinator & Ecologist at the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology – says it also forms part of a wider project focusing on the legacy of colonialization on the environment.
