Montserrat Tour & Taxi Association Did Not Follow Process When It Announced Bus Fare Increases
Chairman of the Montserrat Transport Board says the Montserrat Tour and Taxi Association (MTTA) did not follow the law when it announced increases in bus fares last month.
The Board under the chairmanship of Commissioner of Police Steve Foster met earlier this week to discuss the matter.
The MTTA said recently that Day Stops are now 5 dollars, Night Stops 7 dollars from 6pm, and Off Road Stops 7 dollars.
However, Mr. Foster says the correct process was not followed by the Association as the proper documentation along the justification for the increases were not submitted. Therefore he says what the MTTA did was not a “a legal action.”
