ECCB Governor Predicts Inflation Will Last for Another Year

The high cost of food and other commodities are expected to last at least another year in member states of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union, including Montserrat.

So warns the Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, Timothy Antoine.

The government of Montserrat announced last Friday that it will assist house holds with their fuel bills for the next three months.

This is one measure to help persons cope with inflation, another being the re-establishment of the price control mechanism.
