More Than Half-a-Million Dollars Written Off by Government in Uncollectable Monies
The Legislative Assembly has written off nearly 600,000 owed by members of the public.
The sum, $592,139.96 were deemed uncollectable by the government.
These include loans and advances - $98,000 hospital receipts, $84,000, Trade license arrears, $14,975 and Social Services loans $394,927.
Minister for Finance, the Honourable Joseph Farrell says some of these monies were granted to individuals in emergencies such as medical evacuations.
