Government of Montserrat Announces Plans for COVID-19 Tracking Bracelets

The Government of Montserrat has announced plans to roll out COVID-19 tracking bracelets in the coming days, as it moves towards reopening the islands borders.

Quarantine violation has seemingly become a major headache for the government and local health officials.

And, as government relaxes COVID-19 suppression measures, GPS-tracking bracelets soon will be placed on all persons entering Montserrat who are required quarantine and or self-isolate.

The announcement was made by Minister of Health the Honourable Charles Kirnon on Friday.

As part of updated measures, unvaccinated travelers to Montserrat are required to quarantine for 10 days, while fully vaccinated persons, who tests positive for COVID-19 or their result is inconclusive, upon arrival, will have to self-isolate.

Chief Medical Officer Dr Shara Greenaway Duberry explains what it means to have an indeterminate test result.

She is also encouraging persons who are travelling to have a Plan B, in any event they have an inconclusive test result.
