An Urgent Need for the Diversification of Montserrat’s Economy to Cushion the Fall Outs from Unprecedented Events
Montserrat’s leader of government business is doubling down on the need for the island to urgently diversify its economy.
Speaking during the 2022/2023 budget presentation on Monday this week, Premier, the Honourable Joseph Farrell highlighted that the Covid-19 pandemic and other such unprecedented eventualities could be better handled if diversification were to take place.
He says Montserrat and other vulnerable states across the region have been introducing initiatives to encourage divergence of their economies as much as possible.
