Negotiations Begin on New Budget for Montserrat
Negotiations began this week on the new budget for Montserrat.
The Financial Aid Mission led by officials from the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office FCDO officially begins this morning.
The UK team, led by Adam Pile, Deputy Director of Overseas Territories Directorate, will hold discussions with Premier the Honourable Joseph Farrell, members of his cabinet and government officials.
The FCDO team, which has been on the ground since last week visited several projects across the island, and met with various groups including fishermen.
Head of the Programme Management Office Martin Parlette, says swift progress is being made to procure critical equipment for the island.
The UK government is financing the equipment, to the tune of 3 million pounds pounds.
